Welcome to the FloodList Directory Submission Guidelines.
We reserve the right to remove (with full refund) or refuse listings at our discretion. All submitted listings are checked by us and will only be included if they meet the guidelines below.

We will only accept and include listings that are relevant to floods and flooding. This of course covers a wide range of products and services, including insurance, flood protection, flood restoration and clear up, flood risk assessment and more.
1. First you will need to visit the Add Listing page. Here you will see the various types of listing packages available, what each package offers and how much it will cost. Choose the most suitable listing package for your business and click on”Subscribe“.
2. Next you will see a form for your to complete. The form is in 2 sections: Account Creation and Listing Details.
At the top of the form are sections for your username and email. We use this information to automatically set up an account for you, with a login name and automatically generated password. These details will be sent out to you by email once you have completed your registration and listing. Keep these login details safe so that you can use them to login should you want to edit or update your business listing.
The second part of the form includes sections for your business listing, such as title, description, contact details, images, YouTube video and map.
The sections marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.
Choosing a Category
Depending on the listing package you have chosen, you will be able to add up to 3 categories for your listing. Choosing the most relevant category will help visitors find your lisintg more easily.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your listing. If you can’t find a relevant category, in some cases we may be able to add one for you. Please contact us using the contact form here to let us know your requirements.
You can add up to 4 different images to your listing. These can be anything related to your business, such as a company logo, or photos of your work or products. We certainly suggest that you include your company logo.
Only include images where you own the copyright. It is your responsibility to ensure that all images conform to copyright law.
To add images, click on “Browse” and select the correct image from your computer.
The directory will automatically resize your images to fit into the design layout of our website. As a general rule, try to use images with a miminum of 600 x 400 pixels (600 pixels wide by 400 pixels high).
To get a more professional look for your business listing, try to use images that all have the same dimensions. Visitors to the directory can navigate through all of your images. Jumping from large to very small images often gives a poor impression.
Your company logo is probably the most importan image to include in your business listing. Try to find a version of your logo that is 600 x 400 pixels where possible. This offers the best chance for your logo to look good in search results, category lists and within the business listing itself.
Add the full URL of your website, including the http://
For example, http://floodlist.com
It is possible to have the link point to a specific page on your websites, rather than simply your home page. For example you might be an insurance company that offers a range of insurance (flood, auto, home, health). In this case, include the URL to the web page you feel to be the most relevant.
For example: http://abc-insurance.com/flood-insurance
If your company has a relevant YouTube video availabe, perhaps showcasing your products or services, then you can include this in your directory listing. To do this all you need to do is to include the video’s link or URL in your business listing.
One way to do this is to visit the video’s page on YouTube, then click on “Share”. This will reveal a special URL for the video, for example:
Copy this URL and add it to the relevant part of the directory listing form.
Location / Map
This section is important and enables visitors to the directory to find you by location (country, state or city). Make sure you include the full, correct address of your company.
Next, click on Search to make sure that the correct location is showing on the map.
Once you are happy that all the relevant sections have been completed, check the Terms and Coditions box and click on Save Listing.
Editing Your Listing
Should you need to add information or change your listing, you will need to login here using your username and password that was sent out by email.
Once you have completed the above information, we will receive your application and review your site. If it meets our guidelines we will approve the site and add it to our listings. You will then receive an e-mail letting you know that you have been approved. This process usually takes around 24 hours, although sometimes it may be longer during busier periods.
If your listing is rejected by us (for whatever reason) we will contact you to help improve or change your listing submission so that it is a better fit for our directory.
However, if this is not possible and your listing still does not comply with our guidelines, we will refund your payment as soon as is possible.
All payments are made via PayPal. We are not responsible for taking any payment information or for any part of the payment process done by PayPal.
