At least 3 people are missing, presumed dead, after torrential rain caused flooding in Bangui, capital city of Central African Republic.
Records show 39 mm of rain fell in just a few hours early on 24 May. Local media quoting the country’s Civil Protection Agency, reported 3 people were missing after a vehicle was swept away by flood waters on 24 May.
The flooding also caused material damages, with several houses collapsed and roads inundated. Radio Ndeke Luka reported several districts of Bangui and on the outskirts of the capital were affected.
Over 100,000 people were affected by major flooding in the country late last year.
