Tanzania – 12 Killed in Dar Es Salaam Flash Floods

At least 12 people have lost their lives in flash floods in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Floods were triggered by heavy rain that began early on 13 October 2020. Dozens of roads were blocked disrupting transport in the city.

In a statement of 15 October, Dar es Salaam Police said 12 people had died in flooding in Ilala and Kinondoni districts. Many of the victims were reportedly swept away by flood waters from the overflowing Msimbazi river.
