At least 21 buildings collapsed after flash floods in parts of Antioquia Department in Colombia.
Officials in the department said heavy rain caused the La García and La Chiquita streams to overflow in Bello municipality on 06 August 2022. As of 07 August, the mayor of the municipality said 21 buildings had collapsed or were completely destroyed. At least 500 families have been affected with many of the moved to safer areas. Food and other relief supplies have been districted among the affected communities.
Around the same time flooding was also reported in Cisneros, El Santuario and Andes municipalities. Around 42 homes were damaged in Andes.
