Panama – Over 150 Homes Damaged by Floods in Colón Province

Disaster authorities in Panama are coordinating delivery of humanitarian assistance to the 198 families affected by heavy rain and flooding in the province of Colón.

Flooding struck after heavy rainfall from 08 January and caused several rivers to overflow. National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) said the sectors of Palenque, Unión Santeña and La Guaira in the district of Santa Isabel were all affected.

SINAPROC said 156 homes were damaged. Flood waters reached as high as 1.5 metres in some cases.
