Indonesia – 18,000 Hit by Floods in Bandung, West Java

Thousands of houses have been inundated after flooding in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia.

Flooding struck on 23 January, 2020, affecting the sub-districts of Dayeuhkolot, Bojongsoang, Baleendah, Rancaekek and Majalaya.

West Java Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that 3,744 houses have been flooded, along with 4 schools and 17 places of worship.

Flood water was around 1.7 metres deep in some areas of Baleendah. Across Bandung Regency a total of 225 people have been displaced and a total of 18,636 people affected.
