Indonesia – 3,000 Evacuated After Floods in West Nusa Tenggara

At least 3,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes after flooding in the province of West Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia.

The floods came after 2 hours of torrential rain on 05 March, 2018, causing the Rabalaju River to burst its banks.

Flooding affected areas of Dompu and Bima regencies. Around 1,000 homes have been flooded, according to disaster officials in the province. Schools and health centres have also been flooded. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Disaster officials said that flood waters began to recede later in the evening.
