Jordan and Saudi Arabia – 4 Dead, Several Rescued After Flash Floods

At least 4 people died and several were rescued after flash floods in Jordan and western Saudi Arabia on 04 to 05 February 2021.


Flash floods struck in Jordan from 04 February after heavy rainfall. Civil Defence reported that 4 people died when a vehicle was swept away by flood waters in Ruwaished in Mafraq Governorate on 05 February.

Flooding was also reported in Ma’an Governorate, where Civil Defence teams were also called on to help rescue motorists swept away by flood waters.

Saudi Arabia

Over the border, heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in Tabuk Province, Saudi Arabia. Streets of Tabuk City were inundated, causing traffic disruption. Four people were rescued by Saudi Civil Defence teams and a helicopter after their vehicle was swept away in flood waters in the province.
