Malaysia – Communities Cut Off After Floods and Landslides in Sarawak

On 02 May media reported 600 people cut off by floods in Baram district, Sarawak.

Original report, 29 April 2020:

Flooding and landslides affected around 2,000 people in parts of the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, from 25 to 28 April.

Blocked roads left communities in Kanowit cut off. Around 100 people to evacuate their homes and move to higher ground after heavy rain caused the Rajang river to overflow.

Elsewhere in the state, local media reported a landslide affected around 40 people in the district of Miri.
