Northern India and Pakistan Flood Pictures

As with all the major flood events around the world, we are working on building a comprehensive collection of pictures from the recent floods in northern India and Pakistan.

The floods first struck in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The heavy rainfall continued and river levels rose rapidly. The floods and rainfall also caused several deadly landslides. By the 4th and 5th of September, the flooding had reach several parts of Pakistan, including Punjab province but also parts of Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and later Sindh province.

Official figures are still unavailable, but the flooding is thought to have killed over 400 people. Over 2 million people were affected by the flooding in Pakistan alone. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and military and emergency teams carried our thousands of rescues.

See our collection of images from the flood disaster below. We are adding to the collection all the time, as we come across different photo collections, or as events in the disaster area change. Below is only a portion of the images we have collected so far. Please see the full collection of photos on our Pinterest board here.
