Saudi Arabia – Over 70 Rescued From Floods After Days of Rain

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense (CDD) reports that ongoing heavy rain across the country has prompted dozens of high water rescues.

Rescues were carried out in Makkah, Al Madinah, ‘Asir, Jizan, and Al Bahah regions. In a period 26 July to 04 August, a total of 77 people have been rescued and around 600 evacuated their homes and moved to temporary shelter. Asir region was reportedly the worst affected.

In addition, CDD reported that 3 people have died in separate flood incidents in Baish in Jizan, Adham in Makkah and Najran in Najran Region.
