In a previous post we wrote about dealing with pets during a flood. It’s a short piece – not much more than a summary really – but we hope it gives some idea of the importance of planning for the need to include pets and animals during a flood. Don’t be taken by surprise by what needs to be done – it’s more than you think when it comes to animals. But with some simple planning and organisation, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be simple and easy to get you and your pet safely away from the flood water..
Pets need special attention during floods. Consider how you would get your pet(s) away from the flooded area. Aim to have a carrier or some form of transport ready.
Don’t wait until the flood hits before you decide on how your pet will get away from the flood water.
