According to the latest report from Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 193 people have been killed in flood related incidents in the last few days. Massive flooding first struck on 05 September 2014 after several days of heavy rain and is now being described as the worst flooding to hit the region in the last 20 years.

- 127 relief camps set up, including 21 in Rawalpindi and 29 in Gujrat, Punjab
On Sunday 07 September 2014 the Punjab government declared a flood emergency across the province.

Distribution of relief supplies including tents, blankets, food and water is being carried out by NDMA and also PDMA Punjab.
Flood rescues have been carried out by military using boats and 4 helicopters. Over 500 people have been airlifted to safety by helicopter.

Further Flood warnings
Pakistan Meteorological Department Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) have issued more flood warnings for rivers in the region. This is likely to flood parts of Sargodha, Khushab , Jhang and Toba Taik Singh districts.
The River Indus is also likely to overflow in parts of Sindh Province by around 13 September 2014, most likley at Guddu, then Sukkur. These are the points where the main rivers of Punjab – the Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej – merge into the Indus.
