Local media in south Sudan are reporting that floods in Warrap State have washed away around 40 houses , forcing people to evacuate for higher ground. The flooding came after 2 rivers in the state – the Jur and the Naar Alol – burst their banks.
At least 4 people have been killed in the flooding which has affected the payams (counties) of Akon South, Kuach South, Kuach North, Gogrial, Akon North and Riau.
This latest round of flooding comes after at least 10 people died earlier in October this year in the states of Eastern Equatoria, Unity and Jonglei.
