Kenya – Rain Triggers Deadly Landslide in West Pokot

Heavy rain triggered a deadly landslide in western Kenya on 14 October.

According to local media, 2 people died in the landslide that struck in Weiwei, West Pokot County, burying at least 5 houses. Four people were rescued and several people were injured.

The landslide also caused damage to roads, limiting access to the area.

Severe floods struck in county in November last year, leaving over 50 dead and dozens missing.
