Heavy rain caused flash floods in the Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Hamirpur districts of Himachal Pradesh, yesterday, 13 August 2014.
Local media say that at least 2 people are missing after being swept away by flood water in Hamirpur district. The body of a third victim was recovered earlier today.
Initial reports suggest that the floods and landslides have caused severe damage across the 4 districts. Bridges have been washed away and roads blocked by flood debris and landslides. Trees have been uprooted and power lines damaged.
