At least 13 people have died after flash-floods and torrential rains hit Khuzdar district in Balochistan province, Pakistan. Latest reports say that the death toll could be much higher, with rescuers still looking for 7 people who are missing in the floods.
Heavy rains and flash-floods reportedly swept away several houses near to a river, late on Wednesday 03 June 2015. It is not clear if the victims were in the houses at the time. Some local media reports claim the victims were travelling in a vehicle when the floods struck.
Other parts of southern Pakistan have seen heavy rain over the last few days, including Nawabshah, where 73.9 mm fell in 24 hours to 03 June 2015.
Pakistan Meteorological Department say that rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in isolated places in Balochistan province, including Quetta, Kalat, Sibbi and Naseerabad over the next 24 hours.
