Hundreds of Homes Destroyed by Flash Floods in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan

International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Afghanistan have reported that flash floods in the Shuhada district of Badakhshan Province have damaged or destroyed at least 110 houses. IOM Afghanistan say the floods occurred on Tuesday 07 July 2015. IOM is providing assistance to flood victims.

Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) say that 7 people have been killed in the floods. They say that Director of the Provincial Natural Disaster Management Authority (PNDMA) Sayed Abdullah Humayun Dehqan told media that at least seven people including five children have been killed in the province due to flash floods. Pajhwok Afghan News report that the disaster struck in the village of Aynok, Shuhada district.
