Papua New Guinea – at Least 3 Dead After Flash Floods in Western Highlands

At least 3 people have died in recent flooding in Papua New Guinea.

According to local media reports, flash floods swept through areas of Mul-Baiyer district in Western Highlands Province on 03 February, 2020 after the Kuma River broke its banks.

Homes and two bridges were destroyed in the floods. At least two more people are thought to be missing.

Hundreds of people were displaced by flash flooding in Eastern Highlands Province in January this year.
