Trinidad Braces for Floods

The Caribbean island of Trinidad is bracing itself for futher floods after heavy rainfall drenched the isalnd over the last few days.

There have already been reports of flooding in some areas, particularly in the south and eastern parts of the island. The Trinidad Express described the island as being “totally under cloud cover”.

Further rainfall and some thunder storms are expected. Trinidad’s Meteorological Office said:

“Cloudy periods in varying localities would bring light to moderate showers, some of which would develop into thundershowers in a few areas. Gusty winds, street and flash flooding may occur in heavy showers and thundershowers”.
